App, account, and safety
Sporting is a web app that installs like a native one. Your account, your data, and the tools to protect both are described here.
Installing the app
Sporting works in any modern browser, and installing it adds a home-screen icon, full-screen display, and push notification support.
- Android and desktop: use the install prompt shown in the app, or your browser's own install option.
- iOS: open Sporting in Safari, tap the share button, then choose Add to Home Screen.
Updates ship automatically; there is nothing to download or manage.
Signing in
Sporting supports several sign-in methods:
- Email or username with a password, or a one-time code sent to your registered email address.
- Google sign-in.
- Passkeys, registered from settings on devices that support them, for password-free sign-in.
If you forget your password, the sign-in screen sends a reset link to your email.
Notifications
In-app notifications are always on. Push notifications, which deliver when the app is closed, are opt-in from settings and can be turned off at any time from the same place.
Your profile and visibility
Setting a username makes your profile public at its own address and makes you discoverable in search. Your posts, watched games, and favorite team appear on your profile. Without a username, your account stays undiscoverable.
Safety and moderation
- Blocking: blocking an account stops direct messages in both directions.
- Reporting: posts, messages, and accounts can be reported. Reports go to a moderation queue reviewed by the Sporting team, and enforcement ranges from content removal to suspension or a ban.
- Age: you must be at least 13 to use Sporting.
Privacy and support
What data Sporting collects and how it is used is documented in the Privacy Policy. The rules of the service are in the Terms of Use. For account help, contact support@sportingcc.com; for anything else, hello@sportingcc.com.
